Challeng
Due to the introduction of new standards for management reporting at the enterprise (MRS - Management Reporting System), it became necessary to automate numerous business processes that were not automated before. In addition, the accounting systems used at that time on the basis of “1C:Enterprise 7.7” did not satisfy the needs of the Customer.
The contractor proposed not only a comprehensive accounting system, but also an integrated approach to automation, taking into account all the necessary components:
- Pre-project rapid examination
- Data transfer from previous accounting systems
- Training employees to work in the new system
- Adaptation of the system to the specific requirements of the institute
- Advising users at the workplace
- Remote support of the accounting system
Project results
Within the framework of the project, the accounting automation was carried out for the Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas, as well as for its four subsidiaries: Kazakh Scientific Research Design Institute of Oil and Gas, Kazakh Scientific Research Design Institute Caspian Oil and Gas, Scientific Research Institute Caspian Oil and Gas, and Naukograd LLP. All the following main sections of accounting were automated: banking and cash transactions, settlements with suppliers and customers, including settlements with consortiums, accounting for fixed assets and intangible assets, tax accounting, and the provision of production services. A number of types of payroll have been implemented using the “reverse method”, in the context of projects carried out by the company’s employees, accounting of vacation reserves was automated, too. New subsystems were developed, such as off-balance sheet accounting of fixed assets and inventories, automatic calculation of interest on deposits and loans, reflected in accounting, barcoding of fixed assets, accounting for financial reporting purposes, and other subsystems. A number of documents and reports related to the specifics of the company was added.
The staff of KIOG JSC working in the new accounting system successfully got used to “technological innovations”, as the automation results made it possible to simplify and speed up the performance of routine actions and complex calculation tasks. For instance, the payroll process in the configuration “1C-Rating: Integrated Financial Management and Budgeting for Kazakhstan” was significantly accelerated, and, according to the specialist in payroll calculation, it reduced the time by 15 times.
